Ganesh Chaturthi
Also known as: Vinayaka Chaturthi
Dates follow the Indian calendar (IST). If you’re outside India, your local temple may observe a day earlier or later for tithi-based festivals.
Ganesh Chaturthi welcomes Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed remover of obstacles, into homes and neighbourhoods for up to ten days. Families install a clay Ganesha idol, offer his favourite modak sweets, and later bid him farewell with a joyful immersion procession.
